TOUR DESCRIPTION. Similan Islands are located just 84 km northwest of the bustling crowds of Phuket. Koh Similan is one of the best-known island groups in the Andaman Sea, largely because of the wonders that wait beneath the clear blue waters that surround it. Generally counted among the 10 most interesting dive areas in the world, this little archipelago has also become a favourite destination for yachts and tour boats. 
The nine islands of the Similans run roughly North to South. The islands’ tropical rain forest consists mainly of large rubber trees, several species of palm, bamboo and vines. Seafaring gypsies used to live on the Similan islands, but they are now uninhabited except for the park rangers’ office and the beautiful occasional residence of the Thai Royal family on Similan island number 4.

10:00am arrival at Similan Islands-National Park 2-3 times snorkeling (together about 2 hours)

TOUR BACKGROUND. The Similan Islands is a group of islands in the Andaman Sea off the coast of, and part of, Phang Nga Province, southern Thailand. It is a national park, Mu Ko Similan, which was established in 1982 after a one year assessment by the forestry department.
The limestone rock is around 20 metres tall with a diameter ranging from about 4 metres at the bottom and up to 8 metres at the top (hence the name of nail island).
“Similan” is derived from the Malay sembilan, and means “nine”. Each of the Similan Islands has a number as well as a name. These are, running from north to south: Koh Ba Ngu (No. 9), Similan (No. 8), Payu (No. 7), Miang (No. 4, No. 5 and, in some opinion, No. 6), Payan (No. 3), Payang (No. 2), and Hu Yong (No. 1). Hin Pousar, or “Elephant Head Rock”, is alternatively designated No. 6 by some. Koh Bon, lying 17 nautical miles north of Ba Ngu, is part of the Similan National Park and may be granted honorary status as No. 10.

Guides.
A Tourist Authority of Thailand tour guide, licensed and English speaking (often available also in Chinese and Russian) will be provided. For v.i.p. tours available also tour guides in French, Spanish, German or Italian language. Our tour guides will never drive any minivan or boat because the driver or captain will always be a different person, professional and specialised only about that work. For the excursions to islands by boat, the crew is always expert and professional as well.

Safety.
For safety on the boats/speedboats we provide life jackets in various sizes and emergency first aid kits is available. Our boats/speedboats are never overbooked or overloaded. Safety and security are our priority.
