TOUR DESCRIPTION. The ideal city escape tour. Khao Yai National Park, proclaimed in 1962, was the first National Park in Thailand and, with its 2,168 square km, is the third largest one in the country. The park covers a mountainous area some 200 km from Bangkok, straddling the borders of four provinces, although the greater part belongs to Nakon Ratchasima (Korat) province. In 1984, it was named an ASEAN Heritage Park, and in 2005 it was listed (with adjoining Forest Parks) as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The highest peak in the park is Khao Rom at 1,351 meters. The watershed forms the source of four major rivers which feed many waterfalls throughout the park. The National Park is home to over 3,000 plant species, 320 species of birds and 67 types of mammals – including elephants, bears, tigers, gibbons, deer and wild pigs. The many waterfalls are at their spectacular bloom in the months from June to September.
The start of this tour is a scheduled pick up from hotels in downtown Bangkok at 7.00 am, with the first stop being the market at Nakhon Nayok.
This is followed by a visit to the rice fields, after which we travel on to Khao Yai National Park.
After a break for lunch, we have a walk along the paths in the mountain forests, and then go trekking on elephants along streams and rivers. The trek lets us view an unforgettably and beautiful scenery along the way.
The minibus then takes us back to Bangkok with a scheduled return time of 6.00 pm. During this tour you will be led by friendly and informative guides willing to answer any questions throughout the day.
TOUR DURATION – TIME 08:00 – 18:00
TOUR PROGRAM
7:00 Pick up at your hotel in Bangkok and transfer to the province of Nakorn Nayok with a stop at a fruit market on the way.
10.00 Entry into the Khao Yai National Park and jungle trekking with a guide and scout (about 2 hours).
12.00 Lunch in a typical restaurant of the Park
13:00 Visit of the waterfalls (completely filled only during the monsoon season)
13:30 Trekking on the elephant to explore the jungle of the Park.
15:00 Return from the Park to Bangkok.
18:00 Arrival at your hotel in Bangkok.

TOUR BACKGROUND. Khao Yai National Park is located in the Sankambeng Mountain Range, which is the southern prolongation of the Dong Phaya Yen Mountains, at the southwestern boundary of the Khorat Plateau.
This park lies largely in Khorat Province, but also includes parts of Saraburi, Prachinburi and Nakhon Nayok provinces.
Khao Yai is the third largest in Thailand and it covers an area of 2,168 square kilometers, including evergreen forests and grasslands. Its altitude mostly ranges from 400 to 1000 meters above sea level. In this National Park there are 3,000 species of plants, 320 species of birds like red jungle fowl and green peafowl, and 67 species of mammals, like Asiatic black bears, Asian elephants, gaurs , tigers , gibbons , Indian sambar deer , crab-eating macaques , dholes , and wild pigs . Its waterfalls are spectacular, especially the 80 meter high Heo Narok, and Heo Suwat, made famous by the film The Beach. Namtok Sarika is popular with the Thais.

With a 2-day hiking in jungle you’ll see some of Khao Yai’s highlights and very likely some exciting species like gibbons, macaques, hornbills, deers and with a bit luck maybe even elephants!
ABOUT THIS TOUR. 2-day tour in Khao Yai includes hiking in the jungle, daytime safari drives, a night safari drive and visiting some major highlights of the park like waterfalls and viewpoints. The jungle hiking will mainly focus on seeing as much of wildlife as possible but also include visiting some beautiful scenary of the park.
TOUR PROGRAM

The itinerary below is only an example. The program may change depending on your interests or how much time spend on different locations.
Day 1 – From 8 – 8:30 a.m. till about 8 – 9 p.m.
(Lunch included/ Dinner excluded)
The first day tour start with a slow driving among the main road into the park for wildlife observation, than hiking in the jungle.
After the lunch break we will visit Haew Nerok which is the highest and most impressive waterfall of the park and also visit saltlicks and other areas where wild elephants tends to visit.
After the dinner tour continues with an exciting night safari using spotlights to spot nocturnal wildlife.
Day 2 – From 8 – 8:30 a.m. till about 5 – 6 p.m.
(Included Breakfast and Lunch)
We spend the morning hiking in the jungle to find more interesting animals.
After the lunch break we will visit the other two important highlights of the park; Haew Suwat waterfall known from Leonardio Di Caprio’s “The Beach” movie and a viewpoint with a great view over Khao Yai’s jungle.
Later on the afternoon the tour will end depending on choise of a daytime safari among the roads for search of elephants or visiting the bat caves outside the park boundries. After end of the tour you’ll be returned to your hotel.

*KHAO YAI 3 DAYS/2 NIGHTS TOUR
Day 1 Bangkok – Khao Yai (Lunch included/ Dinner excluded)
After breakfast you will be picked up from your hotel in Bangkok and transferred to Khao Yai National Park. After arrival, check-in at a simple but cozy resort on the outskirts of the park. In the afternoon, you will visit a ?sacred“ cave surrounded by temple- buildings. Witness as a swarm of bats, million strong, exits the caves and flies out on the nightly hunt for insects. There will be a number of birds of prey waiting for the swarm, in hope for an easy dinner. If you like, you can also climb up and observe the animals from up close. Overnight at the resort.
Day 2 Khao Yai Nationalpark (Included Breakfast and Lunch)
Today you will be taking a tour of the park. You will see jungle, mountain- streams, waterfalls and a diverse flora and fauna. Your tour will show magnificent rock- formations, jungle- pools, deep canyons and elephants pathways. If your are really lucky you will even spot wild elephants or gibbons. Depending on the season, you might see wild orchids and big, colorful butterflies or other “small“ creatures like the worlds biggest moth. Then you will drive up to the Hew Suwat Waterfall, known from the movie “The Beach” .A simple meal will be served here. After darkness falls, you will embark on a night- safari, through the mountain- jungle and across high plateaus. If you are lucky, you might -with the help of special lamps- see deer, wild cats, boars, porcupines, monkeys or even wild elephants. Overnight at the resort.
Day 3 Khao Yai Nationalpark – Sikaew – Bangkok (Included Breakfast and Lunch)
After breakfast, visit the farmers- market at Pak Chong and continue, along a large reservoir, to a limestone- labyrinth with paintings that are over 2000 years old. Before you are finally Bangkok- bound, you will pay visit to a Chinese temple, with statues and rare plants, towered by a 28 meter high Buddha- image. Arrival in Bangkok will be around 6 pm.

We only employ safe and careful drivers and use the most modern and comfortable air conditioned minivan and coach. We will provide transport dependent on your group size as follows.
