TREKKING TOUR ELEPHANT

TOUR DESCRIPTION. This tour has the tropical forest that surrounds the city of Chiang Mai as its backdrop and is definitely one of the most engaging and unforgettable tours. This trip, lasting an entire day, includes a long walk in the forest and the river on elephant back with lunch in a local restaurant at the elephants’ camp or in the fields of orchids. In the afternoon, you will go “bamboo rafting”, consisting of sailing along the river aboard rafts and you can also swim with the elephants.

Description of the tour. The first leg of the tour takes place at the Elephant Training Camp. 

The tour takes place in the Mae Tang district to reach the elephants’ camp where you can admire the abilities of these large and highly intelligent pachyderms. You then go on elephant back for a leisurely hike in the jungle lasting about an hour until you reach an ethnic village of Lisu tribe.

There is a buffet lunch in a typical restaurant followed by an afternoon excursion on a typical ox drawn cart to reach the banks of the Mae Tang River, from where you continue with a thrilling ride aboard a bamboo raft.

It is an ideal day out not only for families but for those who do not want to tire themselves out hiking in the hills or mountains, and also those who wish to see the rural life in northern Thailand. At the end of the tour on the way back to Chiang Mai you stop to visit a plantation of orchids and a butterfly farm.

08:00 Pick up from the hotel in Chiang Mai

09:00 Arrival at the elephant breeding camp

09:30 Recreational activities with the elephants

10:00 Trekking tour on elephant back in the forest and along the river

12:00 Lunch

13:00 Bamboo rafting along the river in the Chiang Mai forest

15:00-16.00 Return back to your hotel in Chiang Mai.

Tour Transport.

We only employ safe and careful drivers and use the most modern and comfortable air conditioned minivan and coach. We will provide transport dependent on your group size as follows.

Group size 1-9 persons: modern minibus with air-conditioner 9 passenger seat format or modern and confortable pick up with air-conditioner (only for groups of 1-4 people).

Group size 10-13 persons: modern minibus with air-conditioner- 13 passenger seat format.

Group size 13+ persons: we can either use multiple minibuses or a full sized passenger coach in a 24, 32 or 40 seat format.

Guides.
